Friday's Special Moment of Gratitude

"Its impossible" said pride.  "Its risky" said experience.  "Its pointless" said reason.  "Give it a try" whispered the heart."
When I read the above quote on Pinterest it seem to speak to me in a very quiet way.  We all have those little voices inside of us that often keep us from giving something new a try.  But I have found when I listen to my heart and do what I love to do things often turn out just as they should.  Is there something that you would love to try?  Maybe today is the day to listen to your heart and give it a try.

It's Friday, time to reflect on the week that is quickly flying by.  Several weeks ago I mentioned that I was encouraged by my art teacher to try better pastels and paper.  Several of you encouraged me to do just that and so I decided to give it a try.  I will have to say it did make a difference in the way that pastels went on the paper and the way that I felt when painting.  I loved pastels even when I wasn't using the best materials but my experience this week was fun and enlightening.  So this week I am very grateful to everyone who took the time to encourage me to give my new materials a try. I think you have just helped me open a door to a whole new way of painting.

I would love to know what you are grateful for this week and if there is anything new your heart is telling you to try!

Please take a moment to visit the artists at Paint Party Friday and Creative Every Day.  I know they would love to meet you.

Your art is very soft and pretty this week. I do love the colorful pieces with your other pastels too though!

  2. Ginny, this quote is SO going on my wall... i love it. It spoke to me in a quiet way too. My logical voice is often the loudest, but i'm slowly learning to trust my heart. i love this simple pastel too, and the soft colors you chose. xox

  4. Ginny, this is such a beautiful peaceful painting. I so agree with the idea of using good supplies wether they be paint, pastels or paper. They really do make a difference. I find that I feel more like an artist when using them. A very nice quote, always listen to the heart if you can.
